Villa Job in Fruili is helmed by Alessandro and Lavinia who have backgrounds in consulting and marketing, but they decided to make a life change, devoting their lives to agriculture. Understanding that winemakers have a social value, they express their thoughts, passions, and ideas through their wines. They farm biodynamically to respect and honor their land while making terroir an important expression in all of their wines. They are low-intervention in the winery as well, only fermenting with indigenous yeasts and using very low sulfites. Their vineyards are located on the Friuli Pozzuolo plateau, 90m above sea level, surrounded by a forest and the Cormor River with a rich complexity of soils, all adding up to a unique terroir. The “Piantagrane” is 100% pinot grigio that sees skin contact for two days during fermentation. It comes from marl, clay, and silt soils, and the juice from each soil type is vinified separately and blended for the desired profile later. It is aged in a combination of concrete vat and old barrique before release, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is a cleaner expression of natural orange wine, with notes of light citrus, apricot, green apple and petrol with a refreshing and balanced acidity. Biodynamically grown, low-intervention, vegan.
