This bottle offers serious bang for the buck! It is produced by a small cooperative founded in 1965 by ten grape growing families from the village of Estézargues, located 17 km west of Avignon, five km east of the Pond du Gard. To this day, the coop remains small and fiercely independent, retaining an individuality and character in its wines that often gets lost with larger coops. The vineyards are certified organic and worked with minimal intervention. This tasty Côtes du Rhône is from vines that average 25 years in age. Made with natural winemaking techniques, it is fermented in concrete tanks and matured 8-15 months before bottling. A favorite everyday southern French red, Les Amies is made from certified organic grapes, showing soft tones of crushed berry and black currant with accents of cracked pepper and thyme. Certified organic.
