Keep an eye on Quentin Bourse; this up-and-coming winemaker’s star is on the rise! After working at the legendary Domaine Huet in Vouvray, Quentin took over his friend’s property in Azay-le-Rideau in Touraine, and began making his own wines. The winery had been certified organic for years, and that, combined with Quentin’s passion for biodynamic, low-intervention winemaking, has resulted in some super clean, super tasty natural gems we can’t wait to drink! Keeping his work in the cellar extremely unobtrusive to match the intense respect for the land in the vineyards, this blend of 88% cabernet franc and 12% côt (malbec) is meticulously vinified sans souffre. The grapes were selected from parcels of varying vine age to lend extra intensity and nuance to the final blend. Aromas of brambly blue and blackberries, fresh plum, earth, and a dusting of cocoa powder yield to a lively, crunchy palate full of ripe juicy purple and blue fruits, earthy spices, and fabulously balanced acidity. Certified biodynamic, low-intervention, vegan.
