Trained as an economist, Francesco Cirelli left a career in academia to pursue winemaking, a decision resulting from an infatuation, or moral obligation, to farm with respect to the earth. He purchased his land in Abruzzo in 2003 and devoted the 23 hectares to organically farming olives, garlic, spelt, barley, figs, as well as tiny vineyards of montepulciano and trebbiano. Lower sulfur usage in the vineyards results in lower yields with more concentrated, flavorful fruit, thus enhancing a sense of terroir. This bright and versatile white is made with 100% trebbiano, fermented with native yeasts and aged in stainless steel. Simple and delicious, this bottle shows ripe yellow orchard fruit, lemon zest, and green apple skin aromas along with a nutty finish and refreshing acidity. Certified organic, low-intervention, vegan.
