The ‘Clovis’ line of wines is produced by Château Simian in collaboration with importing company T. Edward. Around 1920, Sophie Simian had no direct descendants to leave her vines to, so she left them to one of her most dedicated workers, Marcelle. Marcelle went on to grow the vineyards with her husband, and their daughter married Yves Serguier, himself a grower. In 1981, their son took over the family estate and realized the dream of four generations of winemakers, maturing and bottling wines from the estate. Today, the château has three generations working side-by-side: Yves, Jean-Pierre, and his son, Florian. They own 25 hectares of vineyards, 6 of them in Chateauneauf-du-Pape, all of which are certified biodynamic since 2008 (and herbicide-free since 1994.) The wine is light-bodied and full of fruit with a touch of spicy crushed herbs and a smooth, clean finish. Certified biodynamic, low-intervention.
