Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti, or Cappelletti for short, was established in 1909 and achieved great fame for producing several different Amari and aperitivi. All of their production is done in-house by the fourth generation of the family, Luigi and Maddalena Cappelletti. They are located in Aldeno, 20km south of Trento in northern Italy, and all of their products focus on traditional roots, herbs, and flowers. This is perhaps their most iconic digestivo, and is revered in Alto Adige and beyond. It is made by an Erboristeria (master of botanicals) and trader in wines, combining a six month process of plants from the surrounding high alps with a dry Marsala and a unique tree sap of Sicily. It is bold, bitter, and exceptionally complex with many layers of flavor. It is famously comforting after a large meal, and is not traditionally mixed with anything but is nicely followed by a small glass of sparkling wine for a perfect ending to a meal.
