Brothers Giovanni and Alberto Masini established Cà de Noci in 1993 on their family’s farm, where their father Vittorio had planted the first vines in the 1970s. They had a desire to plant grapes native to Emilia-Romagna that were slowly disappearing, such as spergola, malbo gentile, montericco, and rare varieties of lambrusco. This rosé is made with two of those ancient grapes, sgavetta and termarina, that they planted in 2003 on the high hills in Broletto, characterized by calcareous Apennine soil. The name “Tre Dame” means “Three Ladies”, and is named so because the rosé comes from three demijohns. After a short period of skin contact and fermentation in vat, a natural second fermentation occurs in the bottle, giving the wine lively, small bubbles. It is bright, dry and fresh, with some barnyard flavors coming through behind tart raspberry and just-ripe strawberry tones. Certified organic, low intervention, vegan.
