American Fruits Distillery is part of a huge project located in Warwick, NY, less than 40 miles away from our shop and still within the Hudson Valley. It is New York’s first fruit distillery, and is a part of Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, Black Dirt Distillery, and Doc’s Draft Ciders. Co-founders Jason Grizzanti and Jeremy Kidde purchased a steam fired German copper still in 2001, and in 2002 became the first licensed distillery in the Hudson Valley since Prohibition. Their sour cherry cordial is an infusion of fresh Montmorency cherries with their distilled spirit, and it certainly has a pucker and is far from cloying. Its delicious on its own but can be used in cocktails, served with cherry pie a la mode and drizzled on top, or mixed with sparkling wine for a fun cherry sparkler!
